Signing up is as simple as filing a form with your county clerk. Download it here.
The simplest way to file is to visit your county clerk's office. They will notarize the form for you and confirm your correct precinct (many of them were renumbered this year).
The deadline is 4pm on Tuesday, May 7. Filed candidates usually win the August primary by default because there are no more candidates than seats available.
In the event that there are more candidates than seats available in your precinct, it's still easy to win your seat in your local party.
