Stop the Democrats' Obscenity In Libraries Act
Michigan House Democrats are scrambling to pass legislation they wouldn't even have let voters look at before Election Day.
The Obscenity In Libraries Act (HB 6034/35) would make it almost impossible for parents to challenge library books that contain obscenity – including shocking lurid depictions of children.
Under the bill, a reason or basis for a request for removing a book cannot be, among other things, "sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression" – prohibiting graphic depictions of sex and marketing sexual mutilation to children from being grounds for removing a book. The bill adds that only a court order could declare any particular book to be too obscene to be distributed in libraries.
Knowing how hideous this legislation is, Democrats introduced the bill two days AFTER the November 5 election to prevent voters from responding at the polls.

Children should not be exposed to and pressured into contemplating ideologies that prioritize sexuality and identity. Queer theory and gender ideology are not necessary for development or self discovery; they are radical attempts by an organized lobby to brainwash children into desiring sexual self-mutilation. When children are exposed to overly sexual material too soon, it can cause behavioral issues that lead them to dangerous situations.
House Bills 6034 and 6035 were introduced after the election to deprive the right of communities to protect their children from radical transgender activists and the sexual mutilation lobby. They would impair the ability of families to use public libraries without fear that their children will be exposed to this radical ideology.
